ABS Support Spotlight on Kionna Hammond

Since joining ABS in July of 2019, Kionna Hammond has grown from Scheduling Coordinator to the role of Lead Scheduler for all of North Carolina. Kionna’s background in psychology, her passion for working in mental health, counseling or a behavioral therapy field, and her administrative experience, made her an ideal fit for scheduling at ABS.   Kionna thrives on challenges and she loves putting together the “puzzle” of matching staff to patients in order to fill as much of the patient’s prescribed hours as possible while maximizing staff hours, and shortening staff commutes. This juggling act is vital to ensuring that children with Autism Spectrum Disorders receive as much of their prescribed ABA therapy as possible.

Mellanie Page, VP of Operations & Regional Director in North Carolina, nominated Kionna for Support Spotlight and she values Kionna’s “incredible work ethic and skill. She is motivated and is constantly looking at our regional goals to make sure she is contributing and keeping hours on track. She manages the calendars for over 150 children with Autism! Her ability to effectively schedule patients allows us to provide the most immediate care to patients and optimizes our staff hours.”

In her own words, Kionna is motivated and driven by personal achievement and helping others. She says that her time at ABS has provided her with growth opportunities professionally that she has also been able to apply to achieving personal goals. She finds it very rewarding to know that she plays a major role in assisting families to get the support they need, while also supporting ABS providers. She is passionate about making a difference for others and she looks forward to continuing to grow with ABS!

We know that Kionna is just one of the many dedicated individuals playing a vital role in ABA therapy delivery behind the scenes.  Thank you to all ABS employees for work you do to support o help the children and families that we serve.
